Annanhill Golf Course is one of the best municipal courses in Ayrshire. Situated on the outskirts of Kilmarnock, the course is a par 71 parklands located within the grounds of Annanhill estate. Stunning views are ensured, but the 18 holes are also a challenging test of your golfing skills. The wide fairways offer room for error, though you’ll most certainly have to concentrate on the tree-lined fairways. One of the best holes is the 12th, a tough par 4 up a hill, the 17th, a par 3 of 185 yards, and the last hole: this requires three shots with accurate drive in order to have a reasonable chance of a par. The course was opened in 1957 and is well place in east Ayrshire, 15 minutes from Troon, Turnberry about 40minutes with many of the open qualifying courses within 30 minutes drive. The clubhouse has a seating capacity of 80 and has a well equipped bar and catering facility, ideal for parties and functions, which can be booked by contacting the clubhouse direct. There is a good atmosphere at Annanhill and visitors are always welcome.
